ANDREA ROMERO
An American businessman in his 50s. Quiet, polite, and humble, Romero oversees and manages more than a dozen restaurants in New York City. After the Great Depression hit, he was lauded by the press for taking a cut out of his own salary to ensure his workers were paid. Described as a man of honor, many admire Romero for being an upstanding example of someone who cares about his community. He has quite a lot of wealth to his name, and is traveling on the Disorient Express to return to the United States.

The conductor of the train. Ernest considers punctuality and impeccable service to be the two marks of a superb train conductor. He attends to the guests and their needs, and can be seen making the rounds and checking in on the passengers of the train. For some reason, Mr. Devineaux seems to be a human-sized, anthropomorphic stoat...? Don't worry too much about it.

She spins many plates as far as projects go, but her most recent, prodigious accomplishment is her work designing the modern London Underground. Outside of the scientific circles she associates with, she is probably better known as 'the wife of Loquacious Seelie', an international news anchor and radio personality.

Mabel Mora is a young American portrait artist taking an extended sabbatical in Europe, with the latest journey taking her back from Istanbul to study Byzantine architecture and the different influences of the two continents. She's got a dry wit and seems sort of standoffish, but is easy to talk to once you start. She loves listening to mystery radio shows.

No one would guess her actual profession: the heir to a venerable tradition of Chinese funeral parlor directors, one who will stop at nothing to become the best of the best (at funerals, yes). Her side gig as the Versemonger of the Darkest Alleys is probably her more mainstream pursuit, but it's really just a hobby.
